Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church is a giving church that supports not only the local community but also those who have gone to spread the gospel abroad. This attitude of giving flows into the youth who give monthly to support a missionary and a sponsor child.Youth Service
Every Tuesday night youth ages 12 - 18 come together for a comtemporary service providing them the opportunity to experience God's presence through worship, the truth of His Word and fellowship with other youth.Discipleship in God
D.I.G. is a small group Bible study for ages 12 - 18 where youth meet on a bi-weekly basis from September to June during the Sunday evening sermon time. It is an opportunity to discuss the Word of God, deal with issues and questions, and pray. It provides an informal atmosphere where each participant can feel relaxed and unthreatened. D.I.G. provides an opportunity to grow in God at a personal level.Activities
At least once a month our youth gather for a time of fun and excitement. We participate in skating, bowling, curling, softball, traveling suppers, banquets, snowmobile trips, house socials, games nights and many other activities.Yearly Events
There are three main events that our youth are involved in throughout the year:
- Spring Retreat - This is a time when youth from other parts of Labrador join together either in Lab. West or Goose Bay for a time of Spiritual Renewal. We bring in a youth Speaker and Worship Band to provide Ministry for the weekend.
- Youth Breakaways - This is a week long summer camp located in Lewisporte, NL which provides an opportunity for youth to deepen their relationship with Christ. It provides morning discipleship, afternoon activities and evening services. Youth also make lasting friendships as they join with other teens from across the province. - YCNL - YC Newfoundland and Labrador has become Atlantic Canada's largest annual Christian youth conference. It has grown from just 1,400 registrants in 2000 to over 3,000 participants in recent years. YC is a weekend where students from junior high to university age come together to be spiritually challenged and changed for the purposes of God. In the last decade, thousands of students have accepted Christ as their personal Savious and thousands more have made decisions to be bold in their faith and go deeper with God.
